New performance "An Eye from Above" premiere in tsonami Festival - Valparaiso - 18 jan 25.

For over 20 years, the three NOAA satellites have been crossing our sky at over 20,000 km/h, continuously scanning the Earth's clouds and radiant energies.

An Eye from above is a performance that attempts to receive a live signal from one of these satellites, using an adapted antenna and a radio tuned to 137 MHz. As the satellite rises above our horizon, its signal slowly emerges from the surrounding noise, giving rise to a characteristic pulsation. The antenna acts as a revealer, making perceptible the electrical energy that passes through our bodies and our environment amidst a crowd of other artificial signals.

Poetry of analog protocols: this pulsation can be decoded into an image. Slowly, line by line, a nephanalysis of the 2000 km that surround us appears. Clouds and infrared radiation from the ground are displayed, offering a shift from our point of view to that of a space object.

Im zweiten Teil der Sendung schließen wir nahtlos an den Ersten an und sprechen über Konrad Behrs Studienzeit an der Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, mit dem besonderen Fokus auf inspirierende Aspekte, Methoden und Begegnungen. In diesem Zusammenhang darf natürlich "mobile radio" (Sarah Washington und Knut Aufermann) nicht unerwähnt bleiben.
Und da der erste Teil der Sendung mit einem Hörspiel endete, das sich mit dem aktuellen Zeitgeschehen beschäftigt, diskutieren wir ausführlich die gesellschaftlichen Verschiebungen und Verwerfungen unserer Zeit.
Außerdem besprechen wir eine Vielzahl von Konrads aktuellen Projekten, die sich in dem weiten Feld der experimentellen Medienkunst bewegen.

Vor einigen Tagen hatte ich das Vergnügen, mit Konrad Behr @knrd ein längeres Gespräch über das Leben, das Radio und den ganzen Rest, zu führen.
Und da in mehreren Jahrzehnten Einiges zusammen kommt, reicht eine Stunde Radiosendung nicht aus, um "dem ganzen Rest" gerecht zu werden.

Deswegen ist dies der 1. Teil der Sendung, in der es um Konrad Behrs radiologische Sozialisation, das frühe Experimentieren mit 8-Bit-Musik, seine musikalische Entwicklung und ein spätes Studium an der "Bauhaus Universität" in Weimar gehen wird, die mit "bauhaus.fm" @bauhaus_fm einen eigenen Radiosender betreibt.

Dazwischen hören wir einige von Konrads signifikanten Arbeiten, inklusive eines "Vogelschisses".
