I got a used fresnel light for indoor photography. These things are really expensive new. Now I just need a stand because this thing gets very hot.
@Gargron cat is asking you to turn it on. curse their curiosity!
@Gargron
Someone knows who you'll be taking pictures of
Looks really stylish. The Cat too
@Gargron those Arris are great. We had a bunch of those in the studio way back in the day and are real workhorses!
@Gargron
Isn't there an LED version?
@samir This isn't for constant everyday illumination. Color rendering and temperature are key.
@Gargron oh I understand. But I was wondering if you can get an LED version of a fresnel so heat is not an issue?
In theory you can get the right colour temperature with LED
Having said that, I am far from an expert in photography and merely asking if LED has served in the photography space
@samir Sure, people use LEDs in photography. The same kind of luminosity and color rendering with LED tends to be more expensive though. LED bulbs will also run hot, just from the power unit instead of the diode.
@Gargron cat knows that the thing wond bring food or cuddles.
@Gargron It's been a long time since I burned myself on an Arri. Are there any decent LED options available or do you need to stick with the halogen lamps? (Remember to wipe the lamp with alcohol if you accidentally touch it with your finger!)
@Gargron Huh! I didn't know they had a use outside of lighthouses.
@Gargron Is there a light in this picture? All I see is a cat
@Gargron That's a great lamp, definitely gets hot though.Because I saw you talking about recommendations lower in the thread: Impact has great, budget friendlier rolling light stands that I like and are sturdy. The tungsten fresnels are generally pretty hefty, so more stability is better. Id also recommend some leather work gloves to heat protection and some sandbags to aid in stability!
@Gargron Now you need a Leko to complete the set.
@Gargron What a cutie pie!
@Gargron Aww what a cute kitty.
