lemm.eePhD - lemm.eeA Lemmy community dedicated to PhDs. Rules - Rule 1: All content must abide by Lemm.ee [http://Lemm.ee] server rules: No abusive language No bigotry No advertising No pornography - Rule 2: All content must either apply to PhDs, relate to PhD studies, relate to PhD research, or relate to life as a PhD (at any given stage). Questions about PhD-related topics are welcome! - Rule 3: No self-promotion. - Rule 4: No surveys or recruiting for studies. FAQs Is c/PhD related or connected to r/PhD? No. Other than sharing pretty much the same rules and name as /r/Phd this community is not affiliated in any way with /r/Phd. Did the idea for c/PhD come from the r/PhD community? No. r/PhD was the inspiration for starting this c/PhD on Lemm.ee [http://Lemm.ee], but this idea did not start or come from within r/PhD. Do the mods of r/PhD know about c/PhD? Yes. I consulted with them before opening this community, asking if they would be interested in coordinating activities or participating on c/PhD. Mods replied saying they have no interest in moving or branching out to Lemmy, and encouraged us to create c/PhD.

Getting a PhD just means you are willing to do whatever it takes to appease the system. They are political rather than intelligence based. Not to say a PhD is meritless. But they don’t impress me. Bootlicking isn’t a skill I’m interested in.
