#ConvictedFelonTrump is too dimwitted to understand that #TikTok MUST SEVER all ties with China. Information security, security, security. He treats it as a cash cow deal. What an idiot! #Politics

@jhy001 I'm confused by this sentiment. Would you say you favor capitalism or communism?

If you favor communism, wouldn't it be preferable for a social media be either owned by the people it serves (like Mastodon)/no one, or at least owned by people from many nations (in the case of TikTok) to make it cosmopolitan/diverse?

Otherwise, in capitalism, government's aren't supposed to dictate how private businesses act- the free market should. Sincerely, could you explain your view?

Ben Royce 🇺🇦

@SUp3rN0va @jhy001

sucks but if you think represents you are completely awol on reality here. The govt of isn't even , it's capitalism now. And that's what tiktok represents. It is not a force for it is just another spying manipulation for . anyone who embraces tiktok or because " bad" is functioning on an extremely clueless shallow understanding of their world

Do you think the year is 1975?

@benroyce TBH, #TikTok is as bad as #NSAbook, #Shitter and all the other #AntisocialMedia like #vKontakte aka. "Russian MySpace"...

  • None of them are saints and all of them deserve to be banned.

@benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 China's governance is building socialism with Chinese characteristics. It has a communist party over 100 million comrades strong. That party has presided over a massive improvement in the standard of living in their country; indeed at the expense of reform and opening up to capitalism, but with the party retaining political control.

They are trying to wrangle capitalism in a way that hasn't been done before, and may not succeed. It's certainly possible that the capitalist bourgeoisie could take over. But it's hardly a guarantee either.

Ultimately, when you describe "capitalist" China, capitalists around the world get mighty antsy. They would much rather a "capitalist" China that looks a lot more like the capitalist United States. That alone should be reason enough to hold off on declaring China a lost cause.

@aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

I notice you didn't say a damn thing about

No rights, fuck that system. Absolutely, definitively, totally worse than any and all of capitalism's evils, as great as they are

And if you don't know that, don't acknowledge that, or don't understand that, you are a complete fool or a willing force for evil in this world

@benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I find it telling that you don't consider establishing a baseline standard of living to be a human right.

@aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

🤣🤣🤣

The most telling thing to me is you don't even understand how you wouldn't even be able to speak as freely on this topic under the totalitarian govt of china as you do now

But sure: economic growth and no rights or freedoms

Real fucking utopia there, deep thinker

I love these "usa/ west bad so let me embrace much worse" types. Absolute fools

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 China is only worse than the US if you think the US lives alone on an island and gets magic money out of nowhere. Capitalism is a global interlinked system.

In that context violations of humans rights in China just don’t compare in scale to what’s happening outside. But I guess from inside the United States or Europe it’s just difficult to see it.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 The biggest mistake I made while living in Switzerland all my life was thinking it was all separate. That people in say Latin America just had to learn how do democracy and limit capitalist abuses and all would be fine.

Now I think the day the working poor in global south will stop serving the north for pennies it will all crumble down.

@santiago @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Please explain to me why so many south and Central Americans come to the US and Canada if we already were taking it out of their ass at home?

Let me pour a drink. I expect this will be entertaining.

@eva_chaos @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 Because the closer you live to the center of capitalism the less directly you suffer from its exploitation ?

Gardening in Brazil gets you less money than doing exactly the same thing in Europe. Because value of € & $ is defined by how cheap the workforce is in the colonies.

And that is why Brazilians think *their own coffee* is expensive and you don’t.

@santiago @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Bless your heart.

I'll answer the question for you because I married Cuban and I live in a Latino community.

Corruption.

All it takes is a generation or two of it to destroy a community to the point where there isn't anything to sustain people and then the brain drain happens.

Once the brain drain happens there's nobody to carry the community forward.

@santiago @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

In Latin America corruption is just how the sausage gets made. There are definitely better places and worse, but believe me when I tell you nobody is packing up and coming to this shit pile because being closer to abusers helps their situation. You probably spent too much time in Switzerland to have the right to an opinion about the US.

@santiago @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Now, if you want to talk about Sub-Saharan Africa, then you might want to find some Russian or CCP goons to bitch at. They don't gaf about you, but you could try.

@eva_chaos @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 You literally just described how imperialism leads to brain drain from the periphery to the core. Since the periphery's only value to the empire is in raw commodities, that is all that is developed, and those with skills beyond those industries leave for the core.

Corruption doesn't sprout out of the ether. It is a consequence of the material conditions and contradictions of the society it emerges from. Hold a boot to a state's neck, demand that it shape its development solely to suit your imperial needs at the expense of its own, and you have all the material conditions and contradictions you need for corruption to flourish.

@aspensmonster @eva_chaos @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

"I'm going to criticize from within the system that allows me to freely and openly criticize. in support of another system where I have no right to criticize the govt whatsoever"

Ah, the galaxy brains of tankies

Oh and one final genius level thought: "corruption only exists in the West and capitalist countries, corruption doesn't exist in communist countries or china"

🤣🤣🤣

@benroyce @eva_chaos @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 If you genuinely believe that there is no criticism of governance whatsoever in China, that's fine. I won't try to reason you out of a position that you clearly did not reason yourself into.

Also, I did not say that corruption doesn't exist in communist countries or China. Xi Jinping's first term focused heavily on fighting corruption within the party, and led to millions of party members getting punished to various degrees. That focus has continued to present day efforts as well. China's leadership is aware of the threat corruption poses to their development and seeks to contain it, from low-level bureaucrats to high-level tigers.

Please: explain to the dissidents and the hongkongers about the CCP and free expression

So how much does 50 cent party pay nowadays

You're not a real person

If you find that insulting consider that calling you a lying troll is intellectual charity: that you realize the crap you spew is fake

Because the most massive insult would be to suppose that you actually believe this hilarious shit

en.wikipedia.org2019–2020 Hong Kong protests - Wikipedia

@benroyce @eva_chaos @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I mean, I am a real person, living in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm not exactly private about my beliefs and activities either. There's not so much a digital footprint there as a digital highway (my keyoxide profile shows most of the places I am online).

I am not advocating for free speech. I am okay with counter-revolutionary activity being suppressed, in the same way that my ruling class is okay with suppressing liberation movements within my own country. My own country couldn't even stomach #tiktok, instead banning it with strong bi-partisan support. Free Speech is a liberal fantasy intended to placate the masses with the right to complain at the cost of the right to change, and it is done away with at the slightest inconvenience to the ruling class.

Real Person photo attached as well.

@aspensmonster @eva_chaos @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

So you're not a troll.

You're choosing option b: true believer of the stupidest shit.

Well my friend, I will hold my tongue as to my honest opinion of you so as not to be banned.

And I am certain you will not hold your tongue, and exercise your right to free speech... to, uh, advocate for the destruction of free speech

🤣🤣🤣

Which tells us all we need to know about your level of intelligence, morality, and character

@aspensmonster @benroyce @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

At least I have something to give to the police.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @eva_chaos @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 Let’s say observing the parallels between the demonstrations in Brazil in 2013 (against democratically elected left wing government) — in parallel with Hong-Kong Umbrella demonstrations — and seeing how they progressively lead to an extreme-right government & misery did change my mind about supposedly “grassroots” free speech movements.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @eva_chaos @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I remember back then we looked at it and it all seemed to make sense. It was against inflation, corruption . Or so we thought. Like most demonstrations it was repressed by police.

youtu.be/A1DZ3PZrLOc?si=mbxND2

Unrest spread nationwide and progressively, congress impeached Dilma, crisis deepened. Bolsonaro came in with the usual US support of course.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @eva_chaos @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 And if you looked at social networks from 2013 to 2016 you’d see the usual video: always a beautiful young woman saying “help us USA, we are being repressed”.

In the end the result was a big wave of privatization of public services, the Brazilian Real (R$) value cut in half.

Turns out maybe it wasn’t about free speech after all.

@eva_chaos @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 What is sad is having an account with 100k followers on Twitter like you do and still being here trying to get attention from a user base that wouldn’t ever set a foot there.

@santiago

I don't have an account on Twitter at all you weird fuck. Go the fuck away.

@aspensmonster @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Oh Lord.

Most countries holding commodities are corrupt because there's no service economy to give the people real power. These countries can sell whatever to whomever for whatever price. That doesn't make me an imperialist when their own governments refuse to invest the wealth in their own countries. They pocket it and spend it in Switzerland.

Hon, you've been reading way to much Russian propaganda and it shows

@aspensmonster @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Look, at this very moment, you are lecturing me on a computer that is built out of minerals from Africa and South America, using power that was generated using minerals mined or pumped out of the earth. You probably have good healthcare that uses a meric fuckton of disposable plastic and you use transportation. So, by your own argument, you are an imperialist.

@eva_chaos @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 ... yes? That's how imperialism works. Since I live in the imperial core, I am a beneficiary of imperialism. I think imperialism is unsustainable and unjust, so I fight for alternative forms of development that are win-win rather than win-lose.

@aspensmonster @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Ok. Go be a subsistence farmer. I can tell you that nobody really wants to do that any more, not in the global South especially.

@aspensmonster @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

I have a pretty good idea that you're about to segue into communism because you are reading out of the russian playbook verbatim, but you will get laughed off the island.

@eva_chaos @aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I don’t want to cause a shock here, but are you aware Russia isn’t a communist country and hasn’t been trying to become one for the last 30 years ?

I mean if you are uncomfortable talking about communism at least accuse people of playing the Vietnamese or Chinese playbook since these officially aim to get there …one day.

@santiago @aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

No, Russia is not not communist. Nor is China. They learned the hard way

But you genuinely believe you know something I don't, so what is your magical answer to the global economic situation?

I bet I know the answer because you read it from some blog posted by the CCP or a Kremlin goblin.

@eva_chaos @aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 China is ruled by the communist party but they do not pretend to have reached communism, which by definition is a society without classes. They have classes and even billionaires.

It’s a socialist country, aiming one day ideally to reach communism. In the meantime you can’t deny they reduced poverty in a way capitalist ex-colonies did not (see Latin America).

@eva_chaos @aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 Take into account that China was one of the world’s poorest countries in the 1930s, after a century of colonialism from Japan and Europeans.

You can (rightfully) criticize authoritarianism but you can’t deny the long term efficiency of the system. And I mean long term, despite the catastrophic period of cultural revolution. In the end it seems to be working.

@santiago @aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Lol
Lmao
Roflmao

Hahahaha

Are you getting paid? You should ask for a raise.

@eva_chaos @santiago @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 The Belt and Road Initiative is China's big attempt at win-win development and trade deals between states. It's certainly not flawless, but it has been attractive enough to other states to participate in. BRICS is a major political initiative to coordinate development and trade as well, which has seen its membership grow.

@aspensmonster @eva_chaos @santiago @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Wonderful! spreading totalitarianism far and wide. So wonderful of you to sit on mastodon and calmly explain to everyone the exciting benefits of imperialism

Top grade wumao 👏👏👏

@eva_chaos @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 CEOs are the ones doing the corruption. They are the ones with money to do it. And they are the ones with social networks & TV channels telling you the problem is “corruption”.

And that’s why every exploited taxi driver in Rio de Janeiro will tell you “You don’t get it, the problem is corruption, because of politicians.”.

@santiago @benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

Yeah ok, your narrative is falling apart here. Don't bother trying to make this a segue into communism because I'm old enough to know better.

@aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 UDHR article 25 covers it: "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control."

It's in the package.

@aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 who tells you China has a "baseline standard of living"?

Is it the totalitarian Chinese government?

@Amoshias @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 Their efforts at eradicating extreme poverty -- the main goal of their initial socialist development that they termed "the development of a moderately prosperous society in all respects" -- are well documented.

@aspensmonster @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 That's like 7%. Last I checked, China's population just dropped to 1.4 billion. I'll admit, I don't know how it works, but it seems to me that's pretty small for a ruling minority, which means there's at least a not-negligible amount of political instability, in what has so far been a rigid-to-brittle regime. It's /that/ I'm looking to see unfold.

@janisf @benroyce @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 Seven percent of the population being committed enough to become active members of the party is pretty impressive to me. We certainly don't have that level of political activism in the United States. Our "activism" largely amounts to votes and donations during campaign seasons, which I think will be insufficient to address our society's growing contradictions. China's political evolution since the Deng era has been anything but rigid or brittle. It has evolved and changed drastically in that time period, aiming for more stability at the cost of letting capitalism into their development process.

But yes, history is never very predictable in how it unfolds.

@aspensmonster @janisf @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

So are you personally looking most forward to the mass genocide or the mass suppression of rights in your gleeful smiling embrace of totalitarianism my friend

@benroyce @janisf @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 My friend, I look forward to a future where commodity production is de-emphasized, where use-values have more emphasis in our economy, where we learn to bring our industrialism into balance with the ecosystems we are ultimately subservient to, where a moderately prosperous society for all in all respects is prioritized over obscene wealth for a few.

You have #CommerceNotCapitalism in your bio. I would hope that you view this exchange with at least a pinch of good faith, seeing as we both share common ground in believing that capitalism is not suitable. You may not agree with me on how to replace it, but surely I am not just a chinese wumao troll or else a blabbering idiot either. I am looking at the same problems you are, and have at least as much enthusiasm for solving them.

@aspensmonster @janisf @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

I don't know what you are and I don't care. What I care about is I see someone who doesn't care about rights and freedoms and cheerfully admits it. Which makes you my enemy, and no one who is ever going to achieve any of the goals you want with such an ignorant immoral understanding of what is important in this world. Progress and happiness is about rights. Period. Job #1. You learn that, and you learn it well, and I advise you to shut up until you do

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 If all the Democrats responded like that, I wouldn't vote for them, either. :/

Love ya, dude.

It wasn't that long ago Black people didn't have the right to public transit. if we learn how to fight under adverse conditions, we can build back better.

P.S. I just lost rights. Yes, I'm planning on more. I'm also planning on being even more effective.

@janisf @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

There's a difference between appealing to people and dealing with people who are far gone. This person is gleefully abandoning rights. You don't appeal to that, you castigate it.

We need to know when to use honey and when to use vinegar. You are correct to tell me using vinegar when honey is due is wrong. And I am correct to tell you using honey when vinegar is due is also wrong, to the same but opposite degree.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I'm saying vinegar doesn't work. What works is isolation. Looking at your follower count and seeing 10. Block him. Don't engage that way. Identify what needs he's meeting with engagement, what needs you're meeting, and tackle or use those.

Tell me just one time you found that kind of engagement effective at reaching your goal. Just one.

@janisf @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

The goal can also be entertainment. Social media is many things, it's also a hangout. Tankies are, well, funny. And extremely far gone. There is nothing to do except laugh at them. You're entitled to find my approach toxic. Myself, I consider tankies to be toxic, and therefore they deserve nothing but derision.

For interaction with another person in another thread with a more reasonable ideology/ message/ concern, you are absolutely right.

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 I mean, thanks for tackling it. I really need to take a look at the whole conversation. I also probably need to rethink my antiquated sales and MH MOs.

@janisf @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 no you don't. you're spot on. you engage with a smile. you engage positively. that is the way

unless you're dealing with those who gleefully deny human rights and freedoms. tankies. for them, what you do is throw brown paper bags full of dogshit, which is what they deserve

@benroyce @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001 OK, well, I don't care what they deserve, I want to do whatever it's going to take to keep trans people alive in prison and turn the prison mindset toward rehabilitation, and maybe as a bonus turn the US into something other than a prison state that relies so hard on the slave labor it provides.

Delivering what's deserved just keeps the fight alive about who gets to decide who deserves what, which is how we got here.

@janisf @aspensmonster @SUp3rN0va @jhy001

We have Trump now, so all those goals are fucked for now. And part of the reason why is nonvoters, which includes moronic tankies dreaming of glorious human rights destruction for a dead ideology that never worked

But now the next 2 years we make a base to take back the govt, and that's built on appeals not condemnation. So I will set aside the "fuck you nonvoters who gave us this shit" hangover from the last 2 months and work on positive messages now
