Htop adds an exclamation point to your uptime at >= 100 days. I'm currently at 67 days of uptime. Can I achieve 100 days of uptime on my home machine? Don't worry; my Linux kernel is patched using the Live Patch service, and other apps are updated as they are released.
@nixCraft Uptime: 343 days(!)
*brag*
and that's without live patch services! I'm a security nightmare!
@governorkeagan @nixCraft Right! I'm really an altruist!
@nixCraft live patch service?
@nixCraft Sounds like a challenge. Is hibernation mode allowed to avoid unnecessary power consumption?
@nixCraft Darn, mines at 11 minutes as I just did a reboot after a kernel update...
@nixCraft I no longer consider long uptime a good thing. You should be patching regularly, and I have been bitten more than one by updates *appearing* to work, until an issue they have introduced only surfaces on the next reboot, when inevitably the older version that worked is difficult to track down and reinstate.
@nixCraft Plus I had Raspberry Pi get twatted as I'd not checked the SD card by rebooting often enough.
