"way behind" on the harvesting and industrialized application of personal behavioural data scraped from the souls of a billion-ish users is OK by me dude ;) So is the mojo they've baked into their hardware devices (for years).

Once Google was the default search engine no one changed privacy wasn't all that private after all. Google services are quite prevalent on ios so the point is a little moot. Also, you might want to read the TOS carefully.

Is harvesting and monetizing personal derived from services (especially search)? No. They’re just harvesting cash from Google in exchange for the service placement on iOS.

Apple's job isn’t to protect people and their devices (no matter what terms of any ToS / EULA's are).

Apple simply enables privacy for those wishing to pursue or enhance it.

Running Google apps on iOS is equivalent to digital Rawdoging / unsafe sex – and always has been.
