My excuse is that I only buy Top Twists so I can use the box for #miniatures
My boss has been really nice to me, accommodating my sensory issues, never telling me off no matter how badly I mess up and taking me to the trade show so I COULD MEET CALVIN! MY HOMIE CALVIN! He has this really 70s mudguard on his bike, so I thought I could use it as a base for a #70s themed man cave. It took ages to create a vector seamless tile.
Which would make the best wallpaper? I think the first keeps it closer to the original but I'm also thinking it's on the bright side. But maybe that will work. Maybe for the tools I'll just have to print a ParkTool wall
After two more days of work, I'm up to here. This 70s theme is a different style from the contemporary styles I'm used to making. I'll be really pleased if the heater comes out well! It's a shame I don't have any orange bulbs, I could have lit it up. But I don't have any spare battery holders anyway.
I'm trying to decide if I should put the fireplace on the right hand wall or the back wall. I'm planning on putting a TV set in there, but I can't decide if it should go on the right wall or the back. I need a door on the left wall
This is gonna take a while.
This took aaaaaages to make! I wish I'd taken care to make the mirrored parts flat, because the reflectiveness really shows it's curved!
I still can't decide on the layout! I need to make the TV and cabinet for it. And also a floor lamp for the lighting. I wonder if I could put some red plastic around an LED and put that behind the heater for a soft glow?
The walls aren't straight, so I'm gonna have to make a skirting board and cornice too.
Apparently this pattern isn't some random 70s design, but by Orla Kiely
I think I'll work on the rest tomorrow.
I got super lazy with the TV. The jerseys are actually framed and have plastic covering them.
My mini 70s room is almost done! I decided I'd try to be clever and light up the heater, as having just the floor lamp lit up seemed not enough. But it caused me a lot of problems. I thought I could punch some holes to let the light through, but it ruined it. I had to reprint the grille and even now it's a little crooked where the LED has pushed it out of shape, but I can't access the back anymore!
I think I'm going to leave it at this.
I added a bike fork loo roll holder. My boss showed me a picture of one he made, so I thought it would be nice to include it. I added some books, a vinyl player and a few other nicknacks.
I left it on a shelf at work without saying anything. That was two hours ago! I don't think he's noticed it yet!
It took him six hours to notice it!
