Going to test #NightJet in a few days. Will report back. America should not have given up on its trains, it is so liberating to travel light without a car!

The #NightJet we took from #Venezia to #Munchen looked like this. The experience is very much like the #sleeper #trains in #Belarus, with few small differences:
1. There's a ladder, not just a step on a wall.
2. In basic compartments, there's no mattresses, and the bed is a bit too hard. A plus compartment is more comfortable.
3. There's a middle bunk for kids, seen here folded against the wall.
The worst part was being woken up by #German #police at 4am for passport check. #acab
@angdraug, passing anywhere near Vienna/Bratislava by any chance?
@andrew_shadura Back in California now (posting vacation photos while your home sits empty is a risk I try to avoid). We visited Prague and Vienna, but at our packed three-museums-per-day pace there wasn't much time for trying to meet people. Maybe next time -- if we can, we're definitely coming back to Prague!
@angdraug @andrew_shadura There shouldn't be routine passport checks on intra-Schengen borders. But this seems to be happening quite often now.
It is most likely related to the Euro Championship, which Germany hosted. They increased security measures slightly before it.
