Is there anyone else getting these emails from some researcher asking me to do work for them?
"We are conducting a research study on memory leaks in real-world applications and would like to recreate the memory leak issue you addressed in your pull request." ... "We would be grateful if you could share any test cases, additional context, and insights to help us accurately reproduce the memory leak you addressed in your PR." ...
I have received three of them so far.
@bagder Trying to feed an LLM perhaps?
@bagder I've received emails from researchers who mass-scrap GitHub repositories asking me to discuss whatever I made on an open source PR or to participate in some survey. I've never replied to any of them.
@bagder never gotten that exactly. but in same spirit
why I keep a CashApp address in public view, so if randos want to bellyflop a work request into my world I can also glance at my CashApp tx log, or quote them my addr, and if I see nothing hit that I ignore them. silently. heh
@bagder hadn’t gotten any yet
@bagder looks like they want you to write them an exploit lol
@bagder Did you 'leak' these requests into a circular receptacle?
@bagder I’ve been receiving some similar ones on the subject of cloud security. I send them straight to the bin.
@bagder I got the exact same mail
