Another very well researched and presented doc from . It sheds light into how bad and abusive working conditions are in Indonesia in companies which are used by AAA studios to offload . Keep this in mind when you complain about a game release being moved, bugs not being fixed or that the game is too expensive in your opinion!

:youtube: That last #video from #PeopleMakeGames is deeply disturbing but feels important to watch.

People Make Games - 100 Slaps: The Breaking News The Games Industry Ignored in 2024

Because the system we have to produce what we enjoy (in this case #videogames) not only permits, but actively encourages and rewards such evil and abuse to take place.

Also makes you wonder where is the cathartic violence and just retribution when you really need it.

If you are into gaming or just care for the people working in the games industry it:

It was a pleasure to have Chris at our AGM. I love how he frames the state of the games industry as an outrageous power imbalance and that he sees unionising as the best and only way to fix it.

Regardless of ideology, if you're an employee at the games industry, you're in a class struggle and the best way to defend and improve your livelihood is through collective action.

Must watch!
