@arstechnica not SUVs we want Sedans. Damn it, we are all burned out on ridiculously large inefficient vehicles that are both expensive and dangerous.

@Sh4d0w_H34rt @arstechnica And heavy. You're going to be going through a lot of tires riding around in a 2 1/2 ton beast like some of these road and bridge destroyers

@Sh4d0w_H34rt @dave_heumann @arstechnica I keep seeing this referenced, but as the current owner of two EVs and since having them for 12 years it has not been my experience. Go figure.

@NailClippings @dave_heumann @arstechnica the keys here are vehicle weight and high performance showing off.

@NailClippings @Sh4d0w_H34rt @arstechnica This is good to know. I imagine it's more an issue with the trucks and larger SUVs.

@Sh4d0w_H34rt @arstechnica some of us need to haul equipment to soccer practice and the church volunteer function. Trunk space is needed

@orenbell @arstechnica key word "some" not most. Yet the some have dictated the overwhelming majority of the market.

@arstechnica nooooo, we really do want minivans. Microtrucks. Kei trucks. Small form factor easily-customizable work-oriented EV vehicles.

@jgilbert @arstechnica Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is yellin' at China for [checks notes] making too many solar cells, batteries, and electric vehicles.

@jgilbert @arstechnica This is true. An electric Kei truck- or an L7e class quadricycle (like the Kilow la bagnole) would take care of like 95% of my driving needs pretty happily.
I don’t need a 500 mile range, 7000lb electric vehicle regardless of body style.

@arstechnica
This future EV purchaser (ME) wants a low cost basic EV two seater roadster topless. Maybe an optional hardtop removable. $20K. 250 Miles. 0-60 doesn't matter.

@arstechnica I'm a little iffy about this title, don't want electric minivans? How do we know that, at least in America we haven't been offered them, and for my job I could certainly use one.
