Who am I kidding, I'm going to end up with some custom brazed abomination of a Brompton G line with a Pinion P1.18 The Fly'd into it before I ever get a fat bike

@gnomon lots of folding fat e-bikes, but can't find a regular one.

I'm in the market for a fatbike, but I'm holding out until I can get The Fatbike I Want, that being a belt drive and Pinion gearbox, but those are all in 100% custom territory for now.

You can traverse much rougher terrain. The larger the tire and lower PSI means you can float over looser snow or sand. This of course is all at the expense of speed. I have 4.8" and sometimes wish I had more.

@pauldotbike @gnomon @PaulYyz @christ @shriramk @cks Did I say 100% custom territory? It turns out of I want fat tires, front shocks, belt drive and pinion gearing, I actually meant "$10k+ custom-fabrication territory".

It's saddening, Pinion+Belt looks to me like the chocolate and peanut butter of high-endurance drivetrains, and nobody's making them pret-a-porter.
