Just realised that today marks one year since X-Men '97 premiered. Still hard to believe how the team behind the show did such a phenomenal job reviving a 32 year old cartoon, living up to, and even exceeding, expectations that were through the roof.

Estoy viendo #XMen97 y hay un momento musical de pelos de punta con #HappyNation. Ese album de #AceOfBase fue el primero en entrar en casa en formato CD. Lo escuchábamos a todas horas. Y yo, sin saber inglés (y mucho menos latín) me aprendí la letra de muchas de las canciones. Así que todavía recuerdo:

I thought the season ended a couple episodes ago and I was satisfied THEN... but now that I've seen the full Season 1, "Your Friendly Neighborhood #SpiderMan" is really terrific. It goes in different directions from what you expect, and it's all the better for it.

Between this and #XMen97 we're eatin' good with animated shows lately.

Spider-Man (Parker and Morales), especially, have gotten some really good animated representation, and this just keeps the trend going.

5/5, easy.

"There are some series which are runners-up for this list. This includes a continuation of #xmenanimatedseries entitled X-Men ’97, and a very #queer #Australian mini-series based on a podcast entitled Starship Q Star, centered around an all-woman and #nonbinary crew. The latter is trying to get a pilot and a full series. In contrast, #xmen97 has more diversity and harps a 1990s style...James Gunn’s #creaturecommandos is another runner-up. This series is based on DC Comics, and produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios, and centers on #amandawaller’s #blackops team of monsters, with Gunn writing all seven episodes. Yves “Balak” Bigerel was supervising director...#starwarsthebadbatch is another runner-up. The first season aired from May to August 2021, the second season from January to March 2023, and third season from February to May of this year.
